  • If the foreign applicant whose both parents are foreigners wants to have all-English lectured education courses, it is recommended to apply to Underwood International College (UIC). UIC selects international students independently. Thus, if you are interested please contact to UIC (82-2-2123-3923, uicadm@yonsei.ac.kr, http://uic.yonsei.ac.kr).

  • Yes. If your parents have Korea nationality and only you are a foreigner, you can not apply as an international student. In that case please contact to our International Undergraduate Admissions Team (82-2-2123-4131, ysadms@yonsei.ac.kr, http://admission.yonsei.ac.kr).

  • Yonsei University guarantees scholarships for a few gifted students who prove excellent academic performance or special talent.

  • Medical Department, Dentistry Department, and Nursing Department all require the applicant to submit Yonsei Korean Language Institute Test Score Certificate of 5 or higher, or a TOPIK score of 5 or higher before the application materials deadline. If applicants for other departments submit TOPIK Level 5 or higher can take classes without limitation after entering Yonsei university.

  • The requirements for medical department applicants are the same with other regular department applicants. However, the applicants for the medical department must submit Yonsei Korean Language Institute Test Score (Certificate of Completion) 5 or higher, or a TOPIK score 5 or higher before the application materials deadline. In the case of domestic applicants only 0.1% of them are admitted to Yonsei University’s medical department. Therefore, we only admit the best students for this department, and strict admission criteria will be applied for the international students.

  • Applicants can apply to one major in a regular department and only those applying for Global Leadership Division can apply for one of the other majors at the same time. International students who applied but were not accepted may apply again if they applied in the online application period. In that case you don't have to re-submit the documents you've already submitted. Please note that if you re-apply to the same department that rejected your admission, there is little possibility that the result would change.14

  • You cannot send application materials and forms by e-mail. However, if you want academic consulting, you may send your high school’s grades, certificate of English language proficiency tests (TOEFL, IELTS, etc), TOPIK Score, and other related documents by e-mail or you may bring the materials with you to Underwood Hall B107 to have a consultation.

  • Recommendation Letters should be written by the student’s homeroom teacher, or by a teacher who is most familiar with the student’s high school life.
