경제학부 학생들에게 다음과 같이 안내드립니다.

As the Applications Chairs for the 23rd Carroll Round Steering Committee, we would like to issue a final call for all interested undergraduate students at Yonsei University to apply to this year’s Carroll Round Undergraduate Economics Research Conference.

International applications will be assessed on a rolling basis until 11:59 PM February 26, 2024, an extension from the previous deadline of February 21st. The Steering Committee recognizes that applications made at this time may represent works in progress.

This year’s conference will be held at Georgetown University from April 19 to April 21, 2024. In addition to presentation sessions, we hold keynote lectures and events throughout the weekend. Our keynote speakers for this year are Dr. Olivier Blanchard, former Chief Economist of the IMF and current Robert Solow Professor of Economist at MIT, and Dr. Wendy Edelberg, Director of the Hamilton Project at the Brookings Institution and former Chief Economist at the CBO. A list of our past speakers can be found here.

International applicants who are invited to present at the conference are responsible for obtaining visas and travel documents. Those who cannot physically travel to the U.S. may join our online sessions.

We are committed to making the conference accessible to those who wish to participate. We encourage all applicants whose research demonstrates econometric rigor and original insight to apply. Funds may be available to cover the cost of transportation to Washington for participants. In the past, the Steering Committee has been able to meet the vast majority of participants’ outstanding financial needs.

On behalf of the Steering Committee, we ask that you forward this letter to all interested undergraduate students and faculty advisors of research-oriented economics courses, and encourage them to apply for this year’s Carroll Round. For more information on the history of the conference and the application process, please visit our website. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at carrollround@georgetown.edu. We look forward to receiving your application!
