Abstract:

Multi-object spectroscopy has been one of key components for large galaxy redshift surveys that are powerful probes of cosmology and structure formation. In this regard, we have worked on the development of multi-object spectrographs (MOS) for galaxy redshift surveys of local universe. The survey aims to construct a spectroscopic sample of galaxies with K_S<13.75 for complete 3-dimensional mapping of the local accelerating universe where the contribution of dark energy is maximized. To do so, we have started working on the construction of the MOS system for KMTNet telescope at Siding Spring Observatory in Australia. We will introduce the current status of the design and development of the MOS system, which includes fiber positioners, mounting plates, atmospheric dispersion correctors, fiber view camera, guiding/focusing modules, and spectrograph.
