The 2024 NEREC Summer Fellows Program, the 11th in its series, will be held as follows:

Nuclear Nonproliferation Education and Research Center (NEREC), KAIST, ROK
Purpose To train and nurture next-generation global leaders in nuclear nonproliferation and related nuclear policy
Eligibility Undergraduate or Graduate students who are interested in nuclear issues
(※Undergraduate student class standing: Junior and Senior)

o  Period: July 15 to August 16, 2024 (5 weeks, OFFLINE program)

o Place: KAIST, Daejeon, South Korea

o Activities: Lectures on Nuclear energy and Nonproliferation, Group research, Field studies in Korea, Participation and poster presentation at the NEREC Conference on Nuclear Nonproliferation and Korean cultural events 

o   Benefits: Lodging & Meals for 5 weeks and all costs related to field trips and Conference participation (approximately USD 3,500 per person)

Selection Process 

o Application Deadline : March 10 (The application must be submitted via email.)

o Evaluation : March 11 to 28 (Online interview may be included.)

o Decision Notification : March 29 (by email)

o Confirmation by Student : April 12 (by email)

* NEREC will conduct a reference check via email during the selection process

    - Resume with a headshot and personal statement, names/contact info for two references (including your academic advisor)
2) Academic transcripts of all degrees: A copy of an official one or computer printout is acceptable.
3) Travel Grant Application Form (※Optional)
