Security Policy
To prevent unauthorized access and external threats, the university network operates a firewall that blocks unapproved users.
If you need to make an internal system accessible externally for academic, administrative, or research purposes, you must submit a security policy request for approval.
Please review the following conditions before applying for security policy services:
1. The security policy service is only permitted for academic, administrative, and research purposes in compliance with 「Yonsei University's Information Security Regulations and Guidelines」.「연세대학교 정보보안 규정 및 내규」
2. Only registered Yonsei University members can submit a security policy request. Requests must specify the source IP, destination IP, and port. (Exceptions apply to essential web services such as HTTP (80) and HTTPS (443).)
3. If the source IP cannot be specified, users must use the university’s VPN service (YSVPN).
4. Applicants are responsible for any security incidents resulting from their request.
How to Use YSVPN(Yonsei VPN Service)
1. The VPN service assigns a private Yonsei network IP to external users, providing a virtual environment equivalent to being on campus. Communication between external users and the VPN system is encrypted to minimize hacking risks.
2. No additional security policy request is required to use YSVPN.
3. Faculty, staff, and students (both undergraduate and graduate) can use YSVPN without a separate application by logging in with their Yonsei Portal ID and password. (However, access may be restricted based on current affiliation status, such as leave of absence or temporary suspension.)

YSVPN Access Request for External Users (Non-Yonsei Members)
Required Documents:YSVPN Access Request Form, User Verification Form, Information Security Agreement
Submission Method: Complete the User Verification Form and Information Security Agreement and submit them along with the YSVPN Access Request Form via the Groupware system (Forms List).
※ If the applicant does not have access to the Groupware system, they must visit the administrative office of their respective department or college to request submission of the form
