DNS Allocation
Yonsei University students, faculty, and staff, as well as individuals approved by the Office of Information & Communication Technology.
DNS Application
Applications are accepted only for academic and administrative purposes.
When applying for DNS registration for the first time, users must specify the usage period (maximum of one year).
If permanent usage is required, justification must be included in the application form.
※Connecting a University Subdomain to an External Hosting Server
Yonsei University's DNS service supports only A record and CNAME connections.
For other configurations, please consult the external hosting provider.
DNS Confirmation
Registered domains will be in the format ***.yonsei.ac.kr. Example: If registering the hostname "yis," access can be verified via yis.yonsei.ac.kr.
DNS Renewal
Users must apply for renewal before the expiration date to maintain continuous access.
If a DNS registration has expired and been reassigned to another user, re-registration with the same DNS name is not possible.
DNS Transfer
If users take a leave of absence, graduate, transfer, or resign, they must transfer the DNS to the next responsible person to avoid automatic termination.
DNS Return
If a website is no longer in use, users must submit a termination request. DNS records that have been inactive for over six months will be terminated by the administrator.
