- The leading PriMO-5G research heading by YU has been introduced at Aalto University, Finland
- The PriMO-5G research project co-headed by Prof. Seong-Lyun Kim from Yonsei and Prof. Riku Jantti from Aalto University was introduced on 10 June in Finland. President Moon Jae-in visited Aalto university during his state visit and discussed the collaborated research of 5G technology. PriMO-5G (Virtual Presence In Moving Objects through 5G) is in collaboration with research groups and companies from Korea and European countries, aiming to realize the immersive low-latency media service among moving objects. The research team is constructing the intercontinental testbed in an 5G commercial environment.

- DSP&AI Lab Selected as Collaborative Research Project with Microsoft Research Asia
- With the support from Institute for Information and Communication Technology Promotion (IITP), DSP&AI Lab, together with MVP Lab, and CVPR Lab of the Computer Science department, will be jointly studying audio, video, 3d map and activation map generation systems using deep generative models with Microsoft Research Asia (MSRA) in Beijing, China. - DSP&AI Lab. Selected as Collaborative Research Project with NAVER
- With the support from NAVER, DSP&AI Lab. will be jointly researching on developing a TTS (text-to-speech) algorithm for embedded systems . This study aims at synthesizing high quality voice with a low computational complexity, which is expected to be applicable for various devices such as mobile phones and IoT systems. Through this collaborative research, there will be vigorous interchanges between two teams such as joint development, expertise sharing, and an internship program.

- Prof. Hyun Jae Kim won the President Citation in SID 2019
- Prof. Hyun Jae Kim won the President Citation at the Society for Information Display 2019 (SID 2019) held in San Jose. President Citation is awarded to scientists who have made distinguished and valued contributions to the field of information display and he was awarded the prize for his outstanding service as executive chair of International Meeting on Information Display (IMID). - Sung Pyo Park (Prof. Hyun Jae Kim’s research group) who graduated the electrical and electronics engineering department in 2019 with doctorate won the Excellent Thesis Award of Yonsei University. Sung Pyo Park and Prof. Hyun Jae Kim’s research group have developed a non-toxic and biocompatible bipolar resistive switching memory, which was published in one of the world best scientific journal, ADVANCED MATERIALS. The results presented in this study enable the realization of low-cost medical diagnostic and therapeutic electronics. Thus, it is highly expected to be applied in the field of next-generation smart healthcare systems
