세미나 제목 : CMOS integrated circuits and systems for wireless communication, biomedical sensing/actuation, and large-scale qubit control
내용 :
This seminar presents CMOS analog/RF/mm-wave integrated circuits and systems for various applications including wireless communication, biomedical sensing/actuation, and large-scale quantum qubit control. For the wireless communication application, I will present CMOS digital current-mode power amplifier design techniques to achieve wide bandwidth (>1:2), high power/efficiency, and low AM-PM distortion. And I will also introduce novel EM structures and passive network design techniques to simultaneously achieve wide bandwidth, low loss, and a compact chip area. Next, I will talk about the CMOS multimodal cell-based sensor/actuator array for an early stage drug development. Living cellular samples such as rat cardiomyocytes are directly cultured on the CMOS sensor/actuator array and their multi-physical cellular responses with drug/chemical administrations are real-time monitored. CMOS multimodal cell-based sensor/actuator array can support intra/extra cellular potential recordings, static/dynamic optical recordings, and a cellular impedance sensing as well as a biphasic current stimulation, enabling a holistic cellular response monitoring for drug screening applications. Lastly, I will briefly introduce Cryo-CMOS integrated circuits and systems for large-scale quantum qubit control. The fundamental qubit operations including qubit-state manipulation, qubit-state readout, and qubit biasing are discussed together with the current room-temperature control system. I will also present integrated Cryo-CMOS qubit control chips to support large-scale qubit control.
