세미나 제목 : Application of Radar to Human Subject

In this presentation, the applications of radar for a human subject are discussed. Radar has been employed for defense purposes for several decades, but recently it offers a new opportunity to be utilized for human subjects. This presentation covers two main topics. Firstly, it would focus on the human detection and monitoring problem using radio frequency sensors.  Human monitoring has been an important problem for a wide variety of applications including security and surveillance operations, border patrol and search-and-rescue missions. Machine learning algorithms are suggested in order to detect/locate humans and classify/analyze their activities. In addition, several signal processing approaches proposed are presented. Secondly, applications to human body for health care (on-body biometrics) would be discussed. Sensing vial signals and extracting characteristics of the human body are a unique and significant area of applied electromagnetic. The movement of body parts such as limbs, heart and eyelid can be readily measured by Doppler sensors and processed to obtain useful information.  This offers the potential of monitoring human health remotely, which can be used in a health care system such as telemedicine and e-health. Finally, this talk briefly provides applications of radar for the construction of elevation map.
