세미나 제목 : Wireless Power Transfer for Bio-medical Implantable devices

Wireless Power Transfer (WPT)  is not a new thing and Nicolas Tesla has already demonstrated  the possibility in the late 1890’s when he wanted to share wasted electricity with the public. However, WPT is becoming more and more popular since the 2007 publication in Science magazine by Dr. Marin Soljacic when he re-introduced the possibilities for practical applications. Since the publication in 2007, WPT has appeared in CES (Consumer Electronic Show) almost every year, and the most recently announced Samsung Galaxy S6 & S6 edge comes with a WPT charger. What is the fundamentals behind the WPT? How far can it go?

In this seminar, basic principles and physical limitations regarding WPT technology is revealed. Along the understanding of WPT technology, a whole new area of application is introduced for the bio-medical implanted devices.

The seminar is intended for general audiences, and you can expect to gain basic knowledge about WPT, its limitations, and understanding new possibilities for bio-medical area.
