세미나 제목 : Human Epileptic Seizure Detection and Prediction in iEEG and Microelectrode Array Signals

Epileptic seizures affect approximately one percent of the world population (60 million). Reliable early detection and prediction of epileptic seizures could significantly improve therapeutic possibilities for people with pharmacologically intractable epilepsy, such as seizure control by closed-loop systems. I will describe (a) recent advances in seizure detection and prediction in scalp or intracranial EEG using machine learning techniques, (b) epileptic seizure prediction in iEEG using support vector machines (SVMs), and (c) early detection of seizures using SVMs in intracortical neural signals, recently made available by microelectrode arrays on 4 x 4 mm^2 neocortical patches.
