Motion-Induced Error Reduction for Motorized Digital Fringe Projection System
The research team led by Professor Jae-Sang Hyun from the Department of Mechanical Engineering (with first author Sang-Hoon Jeon, in the integrated program) collaborated with the research team led by Professor Jun-Young Yoon to develop a technology that accurately reconstructs the 3D shape of fast-moving objects. By overcoming the limitations of traditional structured light reconstruction methods, which fail to accurately reconstruct moving objects due to their reliance on combining multiple patterns for 3D shape reconstruction, the team validated the effectiveness of the developed algorithm by testing it on objects moving at various speeds on a motor-driven stage. The algorithm developed through this research has been accepted for publication in the October 2024 issue of the internationally renowned journal in the field of measurement, IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement.
