Dual-Scale Porous Composite for Tactile Sensor with High Sensitivity over an Ultrawide Sensing Range

Professor Jongbaeg Kim's research team in the Department of Mechanical Engineering conducted a study on a "flexible tactile sensor with high sensitivity over a wide sensing range using a dual-scale of porous structures." This study was published in the journal 'Small' (Impact Factor: 15.15, Top 6.83%) in August 2022. In this paper, we present that a flexible tactile sensor using a sponge structure with dual-scale pores and carbon nanotubes can detect pressure with high sensitivity and a wide sensing range. As a result, the sensor can be used as a human motion sensor, measuring from small pressures such as breathing to considerable pressures such as squats.
