When a new student chooses to withdraw their admission before the start of the semester and applies for a tuition refund, they can receive a full refund of the admission fee and tuition paid if they complete and submit the tuition refund application form before the semester starts (March 1st for the spring semester, September 1st for the fall semester), along with the cancellation of their admission.

1. Tuition Fee Refund Policy

Based on the Enforcement Rules for the Operation of the Registration System, tuition fees are refunded according to the following criteria.

  1. 1) Before the start of the current semester (for incoming students, this refers to their date of enrollment), a full refund of tuition fees will be provided.
  2. 2) After the start of the current semester, refunds will be as follows, with no refunds for admission fees and miscellaneous fees.

Refund payment account: all amounts, including tuition refunds and scholarships, are deposited into the student’s registered account on the academic portal. Therefore, when submitting a refund application, it is essential to ensure that your account is registered on the academic portal.

<Regulations for the Operation of the Enrollment System>

Article 11 (Admission Fee)
  1. ① An admission fee is charged to those who are granted admission (including transfer students and re-admission).
  2. ② The admission fee is reduced for the following categories of admissions:
    1. For undergraduate program entrants, if a person who has graduated under Article 51(Requirements for Graduation) of the university regulations re-enrolls, the admission fee is reduced by half.
    2. For those who have withdrawn under Article 34(Voluntary Withdrawal) and wish to enroll as new undergraduate students under Article 35(Expulsion), the admission fee is reduced by half in accordance with the Enforcement Rules for Re-admission.

      However, if a person who has withdrawn under Article 34(Voluntary Withdrawal) enrolls as a new student in the College of Pharmacy, the admission fee is fully waived.

    3. If a person entering a higher-level program within the same graduate school from a research program or a master’s degree program, the admission fee is fully waived.
    4. If a graduate of a graduate school or a current student enrolls in another major within the same graduate school, the admission fee is fully waived.
    5. If a graduate of a research program, as master’s degree program, or a doctoral program enrolls in another graduate school, the admission fee is reduced by half.
    6. For those entering a graduate program, if a person who has withdrawn or been expelled under the graduate school program regulations re-enrolls (including other majors), the admission fee is reduced by half. <Added on 2013.3.11.>
  3. ③ Each program includes both the main campus and the Mirae campus, Yonsei University Health System, and the Wonju Ilsan campus.
Supplementary Provisions

(14) (Supplementary Regulation) However, Article 11, Paragraph 2, Item 6, applies to re-admitted students starting from the 2014 Fall semester.
