Announcement on 2020-1 Online Lectures

Dear Global Leaders College students

To prevent the spread of Covid-19, Yonsei University has decided to offer the first two weeks of online lectures. In order to successfully prepare for the 2020-1 semester and provide online class starting next week, Global Leaders College held an online lecture tool workshop with professors and instructors. The online class might not be as good as face-to-face learning environment. However, please understand the current situation we are facing and the fact that many members of GLC are working hard day and night to provide online lectures to students. (From March 19th, the online lectures will be provided until April 10th)

Please refer to the following announcement regarding online lectures. 

All the courses of Global Leaders College will be offered as (1) Real-time online lecture, (2) PowerPoint material lectures, etc. 

YSCEC is the main tool for your communication with professors. Before the course starts, each professor will make an announcement via YSCEC how they are going to offer class online. So, please check YSCEC frequently and update your email address on the Yonsei Portal. Since unauthorized recording of online lectures is prohibited, DO NOT share recorded lectures with others or sell them to others. Note that you are responsible for the legal consequences.

Followings are what you need to know for real-time online lecture

1. Please check for the tool utilized in each course in advance through YSCEC announcement. 

2. Please find a quiet place where you can focus on the lecture. The network must be stable and fast if possible, so please double-check the overall network status before class. 

3. It is possible to take courses with mobile devices, but computers in good shape are recommended.

4. Students must prepare a microphone for courses that require interaction such as language or seminar courses. It would be even better if you have a webcam. Please make sure your microphone and webcam are functioning before class. 

5. If you enter the online classroom using an URL provided by professor, you may be asked to enter your full name + student number (e.g., 홍길동 2020106111) so that your professor can check the attendance. 

6. Since it may take a few minutes to enter online classroom, please enter online classroom 5-10 minutes before the class starts.
