Prospects and Career Path after Graduation

The Department of Food and Nutrition provides education about basic and applied science about the human diet in the fields of food science, nutrition, and foodservice management to prepare students to conduct research and take measures to improve people’s diets, which are directly linked to national nutrition and health indicators. We teach the theory and practice in food and nutrition studies to produce leaders who can meet society’s changing needs.

Our graduates can work as nutritionists in charge of nutrition counseling and meal management in hospitals and businesses and elementary, middle, and high schools and dormitories and can acquire their Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian(CNSD) certificate from the U.S. Students can also work as researchers at food companies, in food- and drug-related industries, at food- and nutrition-related research institutes, hospitals, and health-related research institutes.

With the recent rapid growth of the foodservice industry, our students can also be employed as professional foodservice administrators or CEOs of foodservice outsourcing companies, fast food businesses, and restaurants.
