Prospects and Career after Graduation

The Department of Interior Architecture and Built Environment is concerned with the relationship between humans and their living environment from the viewpoint of human ecology and teaches professionally relevant knowledge about planning, designing, and managing humans’ living environments. Our department’s educational goal is to produce talented professionals who can conduct meaningful academic research and engage in impactful work by giving them professionally relevant knowledge. Ultimately, students will be able to scientifically and creatively respond to issues related to humans’ living environments.

The fields where most of our graduates work can largely be divided into either industry or research. Those who work in the industry most often work in the architecture, housing, or interior design divisions of construction companies, architectural design offices, interior architecture offices, and planning and design companies; the architecture, design, and electronic industry planning departments of local governments and large companies; and media and publication companies. Those who engage in research most often work in design, construction, and housing research institutes, some of which are government-funded, or research and education centers in architecture companies.
