GBED Need-Based Financial Scholarship Application
for 2021 Fall Semester
- From this semester, the application process will be conducted online through the NAVER Form, so please check the procedure below.
- Required documents are designated, so please check the list before you prepare. Please note that if the required documents are not submitted, your application will be excluded from the examination.
1. Eligibility
A. Students who are currently attending 1st or 2nd semester of Global Basic Education Division
B. Online interview with academic professor is required
C. Minimum of 12 credits, GPA 2.5 or higher in 2021 Fall Semester
2. Application Procedure
A. Online Interview with Academic Professor (Prerequisites)
1) Period: October/25/2021 (Mon.) – November/26/2021 (Fri.)
2) How to apply for interview: contact individually
B. Preparation of Evidential Documents
* If the required documents are not submitted, your application will be excluded from the examination.

Family Relations Certificate (亲属关系证明, 戶籍, 住民票, etc.)

Income Tax Payment Certificate
- 국가 및 지역별 소득 증빙서류 목록 <- Click and download
Submit the certificate designated for each country/region
- In case of engaging in income activities in Korea, submit 근로소득원천징수영수증/소득금액증명원
- In case of freelancer or a one day worker who cannot issue the certificate, submission of payroll statement from January to December 2020 is mandatory
- In case of not earning, submit documents proving no income, such as 소득없음 사실증명원, certificate of tax exemption, certificate of health insurance payment, etc.

C. Online Application
1) Period: November/1/2021 (Mon.) – December/3/2021 (Fri.)

- Once the application form is submitted, you cannot modify or check your answers. Please review it several times before you click ‘Submit’
- If the form closes while filling out, your answers will not be automatically saved. It is recommended to fill out a separate document in advance and copy it into the form.
D. Submission of Evidential Documents
1) Period: November/1/2021 (Mon.) – December/3/2021 (Fri.)
2) Process
Step1. Submit a copy of all the documents via e-mail
- E-mail Address: gbed@yonsei.ac.kr
- Format: PDF only (Combine all the documents into ONE PDF file in order)
- Email Title & File Name : "Student Number_Name_GBED Financial Scholarship”
Step2. After emailing the documents, submit original versions by offline mail
- Mailing Address: [Global Leaders College Scholarship] Room #205, New Millennium Hall, Yonsei University, 50, Yonsei-ro, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea (03722)
- When you send a mail, make sure to write down your student number and name on the front page in order to confirm your application
E. Result Announcement: noticed via personal email registered in the Yonsei portal in the middle of January 2022.
F. Payment: paid directly to your Korean bank account registered on the Yonsei Portal during January 2022. Please make sure to register your account in advance. (The sum of this scholarship and other school scholarships (e.g., 국제처 우수외국인장학금, GBED Merit-based Scholarship) cannot exceed the tuition amount.)
3. Precautions
A. Only application form and documents submitted within the period will be received, so please submit them within the deadline.
B. The more supporting documents you can submit the higher your chances of success will be.
C. If the interview with academic professor has not been carried out, the application will not be accepted.
D. All the evidential documents should be prepared in Korean or English. The documents not in Korean or English must be translated.
E. Scholarship may be canceled if the contents of the application or documents are found to be false.
