<Guide to the Graduate School Degree Thesis Approval Procedure (Effective from June 2024-1 Semester)>


The degree thesis approval procedure of our graduate school has been improved as follows. Therefore, students who are preparing for the final submission of their degree thesis for the 2024-1 semester are requested to review the following information and proceed with the thesis approval process.


※Note※


Approval methods other than written approval are only possible due to unavoidable reasons such as overseas stay of the committee members. If you need to use the [optional] method for approval, please notify the administrative team in advance to ensure smooth approval. Please refer to the file in <Attachment 1> for detailed information.


  • 1. Degree Thesis Approval Methods
  • [Principle] Written Approval - Direct signature on the degree thesis approval form is the principle, but seal stamps are also allowed.

  • 2. [Optional] Academic Portal (Online) Approval
  • - Access the portal → Check approval → Print the approval form and bind it.
  • ※ Note that re-approval on the portal is only possible if the library permits the replacement of the online thesis after online approval, in which case the existing approval record will be reset and the final approval date will be applied.

  1. 3. [Optional] Remote (Email) Approval
  2. - The committee member submits a scanned copy of the signed approval form and approval confirmation to the committee chair via email → The committee chair completes the approval confirmation form.

The principle is that the committee members sign the approval form directly, but seal stamps are also allowed
Committee members log into the portal system and check thesis approval (original signature is replaced with portal approval timestamp)

Target: Committee members unable to log into the portal


[Committee member] signs the approval form directly, scans it, and submits the signed scan and approval confirmation to the committee chair via email


[Committee chair] submits the 'Approval Confirmation Form' to the department


 [Department] uploads remote (email) evidence to the portal (before graduation assessment)
Process

[Student] Delivers the approval form to the committee members and requests approval

[Committee Member] Signs or stamps the approval form directly

[Student] Submits the thesis with the approval form to the library
[Student] Submits the thesis online and requests approval via the portal system

[Committee Member] Logs into the portal system and checks approval

[Student] Prints and binds the approval form from the portal system and submits it to the library
[Student] Delivers the approval form to the committee members and requests approval
[Committee Member] Signs the approval form directly, scans it, and submits the signed scan and approval confirmation to the committee chair via email          

[Committee Chair] Submits the 'Approval Confirmation Form' to the department  
[Department] Uploads approval-related evidence (approval confirmation form from the committee chair, committee member's email, scanned approval form) to the portal system
           
[Student] Binds the thesis with the scanned approval form(PDF) and submits it to the library.

*Note: If the approval form's signature is a scanned copy, the 'Approval Confirmation Form' must be submitted to the library with the bound thesis
