Master of Theology (Th.M.)
The Master of Theology (Th.M) in GIT is an advanced academic degree that focuses on research and study in an area of theological scholarship and provides preparation for doctoral study in religion. Students specialize in an area of academic research. Graduates are prepared for doctoral study, scholarship in theological disciplines, service to the church, and careers of service. (Duration of Study: at least 2 year-intensive coursework including thesis writing)
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in GIT is a rigorous course of advanced study and research that prepares students for a lifetime of field-defining scholarship, intellectual leadership, and teaching in the academic study of religion. Doctoral students pursue programs in one of three area of study focuses, primarily, but do substantial interdisciplinary work in fulfillment of the degree requirements. Applicants to the doctoral program must have completed, or be in the process of completing, a Master’s degree in a field related to their intended area of study in order to be considered eligible for admission. (Duration of Study: at least 2.5 year intensive coursework including dissertation writing)
