About the Department
The educational purpose of the Department of English Language and Literature is not only to cultivate the humanities of students through the study of English language and literature, but also to acquire practical skills related to English as an international language through training in speaking and writing in English. English Literature includes a variety of poetry, novels and play critical texts from each period from the Western Classical period to the present. English linguistics includes each field of applied linguistics, including phonetics, phonology, syntax, semantics and English education, as well as the evolution of the English language from Old to Modern English. In addition to this, English rhetoric and writing courses aim to equip students with practical English skills required in various fields of the society.
