On-Campus Healthcare

Health Service Center $

Health Service Center provides on-campus healthcare services, for maintaining and improving the health of current undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty members.

As a primary care practice, they offer a range of services, including internal medicine care, vaccinations, external wound treatment, health check-ups, health consultations, diagnostic tests, urine tests, ECG (electrocardiogram), body fat check-ups.

How to use the services
  1. Please make sure to bring your Yonsei Student ID card when visiting the Health Service Center.
  2. Before visiting the Health Service Center, check the Health Service Center website for any notices on operating hours and what treatments are available.
  3. The cost of using the Health Service Center must be paid 100% of one’s own expenses.
  4. The use of the Health Service Center is not covered by National Health Insurance, and external prescriptions cannot be issued or prescribed.
  5. Benefits may apply to full-degree students who paid ‘Campus Healthcare Services Fee’, which is one of miscellaneous fees.

Yonsei University Health System is composed of the following:
Severance Hospital (includes 5 specialized Hospitals, International Health Care Center, Severance Robot and MIS Center) and Dental Hospital in Sinchon, Seoul; Gangnam Severance Hospital in Gangnam area, located in the Southern part of Seoul (includes 3 Specialized Hospitals) and Yongin Severance Hospital in satellite cities near Seoul(Yongin)

International Health Care Center

Opened in 1962, Korea’s first international clinic has been providing high-quality medical services to foreign patients. In the International Health Care Center, specialists who are fluent in English provide medical care and interpretation services for Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Middle Eastern and Mongolian patients. The center helps foreign patients in their complete recovery through limousine services for VIP foreign patients, fast track medical care personalized to the schedules of foreign patients, exclusive lounges, on-call services, and follow up (smart e-health system) after returning home.

Student Accident Insurance

The purpose of Yonsei University students’ accident insurance is to prepare for various safety accidents that may occur during his/her campus life and off-campus activities related to his/her school life and to promote student welfare.

Types of Insurance

2 types: coverage for medical expenses both on and off campus as well as student group accident insurance

Eligible Applicants

Undergraduate and Graduate students at Yonsei University (Sinchon Campus and Songdo Campus)

Compensation Coverage
(however, limited to accidents that occur within the country, South Korea)
  1. Various accidental incidents that occur during school life
  2. School-approved extracurricular activities (field training and exploration, etc)
  3. School staff accompanied MT, OT, workshops and various extracurricular activities

    Accidents occurred during research activities should be reported to the safety management team (02-2123-2176)

Compensation Period

Compensation for medical expenses incurred with 1 year after accident, claimable within 3 years

Public Health Care Center (서대문보건소) $

Public Health Care Center provides certain medical services in a reasonable price. Services may be different depending on visa types. The closest one near the Sinchon Campus is the Seodaemun District Public Health Care Center.
