Mingyu Sang (first author), Kyowon Kang (first author) and Professor Ki Jun Yu (corresponding author), conducting international cooperation research with Professor Baoxing Xu’s research team (Virginia university), confirmed that it is possible to modulate bandgap of semiconductor through the fusion of semiconductor and metal at high doping temperature. Using this, the research team developed an ultra-sensitive wearable gold-silicon fusion new material based thermal sensor with ultra-high thermal sensitivity and thermal response speed and succeeded in continuously and accurately measuring human body temperature signals. The result was published on November 8th 2021 in Advanced Materials (IF 30.849, < JCR Top 2%), one of the most prestigious journals in multidisciplinary science and engineering.
