Introduction
Students with a bachelor’s degree can apply for the graduate school for specialized education and research on the latest
trends in fields of interest. The graduate school of Yonsei University is being supported by BK21+ from the Ministry of
Education and Science Technology in acknowledgement of our academic excellence. Our department consists of nearly 60
full-time professors and 4 major research fields defined as "B", "A", "S", and "E" in the following manner.
Research Fields
B – Bio-health systems: HW and SW aiming to integrate medical and IT technologies to improve future quality of life
A – AI HW/SW: Combination of AI HW and SW to build advanced AI systems and resolve future problems
S – System semiconductor: Integration of materials, circuits, architecture and system software
E – Energy-network-communication: Development of infrastructural network technologies such as energy and communication systems
Degree Programs & Requirements
We provide three degree programs leading to M.S., Ph.D., and Joint M.S./Ph.D. degrees. All degree programs require students to complete both coursework and thesis to earn degrees. Joint M.S./Ph.D. program is the most popular program and constitutes the core.
