- DSP&AI Lab Selected as Collaborative Research Project with Microsoft Research Asia
- With the support from Institute for Information and Communication Technology Promotion (IITP), DSP&AI Lab, together with MVP Lab, and CVPR Lab of the Computer Science department, will be jointly studying audio, video, 3d map and activation map generation systems using deep generative models with Microsoft Research Asia (MSRA) in Beijing, China. Especially, this research will provide a chance for participating in an internship program at MSRA, thus it is expected to foster global talents through communication and collaboration activities with world-leading researchers.

- DSP&AI Lab. Selected as Collaborative Research Project with NAVER
- With the support from NAVER, DSP&AI Lab. will be jointly researching on developing a TTS (text-to-speech) algorithm for embedded systems . This study aims at synthesizing high quality voice with a low computational complexity, which is expected to be applicable for various devices such as mobile phones and IoT systems. Through this collaborative research, there will be vigorous interchanges between two teams such as joint development, expertise sharing, and an internship program.

- Prof. Hyun Jae Kim won the President Citation in SID 2019
- Prof. Hyun Jae Kim won the President Citation at the Society for Information Display 2019 (SID 2019) held in San Jose. President Citation is awarded to scientists who have made distinguished and valued contributions to the field of information display and he was awarded the prize for his outstanding service as executive chair of International Meeting on Information Display (IMID). SID was founded in 1962 and is one of the world’s largest conference in display industry, comprising top scientists, engineers, and corporate researchers.

- Sung Pyo Park (Prof. Hyun Jae Kim’s research group) won the Excellent Thesis Award
- Sung Pyo Park (Prof. Hyun Jae Kim’s research group) who graduated the electrical and electronics engineering department in 2019 with doctorate won the Excellent Thesis Award of Yonsei University. Sung Pyo Park and Prof. Hyun Jae Kim’s research group have developed a non-toxic and biocompatible bipolar resistive switching memory, which was published in one of the world best scientific journal, ADVANCED MATERIALS. The results presented in this study enable the realization of low-cost medical diagnostic and therapeutic electronics. Thus, it is highly expected to be applied in the field of next-generation smart healthcare systems

- Prof. Sohn’s paper, “Learning to Find Unpaired Cross-spectral Correspondences”, has been accepted to IEEE Trans. on Image Processing (TIP), one of the most prestigious journal in Image Processing area (Impact Factor 5.07, JCR Electrical & Electronic Engineering Ranking 8%). - Prof. Seo has received ‘Biochip Young Talent award’ at 2019 the Korean Biochip Journal conference. The award is given for his academic contribution to biochip field, and the development of the Korean Biochip Journal. - Prof. Seong-Ook Jung’s Research Team Accepted in IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits
- Prof. Seong-Ook Jung’s self-timed pulsed latch technique was accepted in IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits (JSSC), the most renowned journal in circuit and system field. The proposed latch reduces the hold time by 77% and minimum VDD by 300 mV for stable operation in low VDD region, which can further accelerates the VDD scaling. This research was made by doctor Hanwool Jeong and professor Seong-Ook Jung of VLSI system laboratory.
