Prof. Seong-Lyun Kim awarded ‘IEEE Heinrich Hertz Award’ for “Blockchained On-Device Federated Learning” paper, published to IEEE Communications Letters.
The paper proposes “BlockFL,” which uses AI algorithms in a distributed manner based on blockchain network for the next-generation (6G) communication.
The paper has won the Top Popular Article by IEEE Communications Society, a Highly Cited Paper for top 1% of Web of Science papers, and top-3 papers of Yonsei for FWCI.
This award is the result of a joint research team by Prof. Seong-Lyun Kim, Dr. Hyesung Kim (Samsung Research), Prof. Jihong Park (prof. at Deakin University, Australia), and Prof. Mehdi Bennis (prof. at the University of Oulu, Finland).
