Yonsei & GLD

Introduction to Yonsei & GSL

Overview

The oldest private university in Korea, Yonsei University was first established in 1885 by Christian missionaries. In 1957, Severance University Medical School and Yonhi University merged, creating Yonsei College and uniting two of Korea’s oldest and most well respected academic institutions. Its mission has been simple yet ambitious: to provide future global leaders with an elite, interdisciplinary and international education. While the style and content of that education has evolved, Yonsei remains dedicated to educating students in the spirit of Christianity, fostering a strong and lasting commitment to the principles of truth and freedom. In commemoration of 133th anniversary of Yonsei University’s founding, Yonsei has grown up as leading institution of higher education with 112 departments and 22 colleges hosting a selective pool of students from around the world. Its 300,000 graduates are serving in leadership positions in both public and private sectors across the globe. They are key players setting new international standards in their respective fields.
