- Professor Choi's Lab undergraduate thesis published in International Journal
- An undergraduate thesis of Prof. Choi’s group has published on Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics. This research has proceeded by former undergraduate student Jekwan Lee and Seungwan Cho, who are now graduate student of Prof. Choi’s group. The journal is published after further study during the graduate course at Prof. Choi’s group. The research is about optical microscope-based fast and efficient layer counting algorithm for two-dimensional materials.

- Professor Choi, Hyun-Yong Research Team Two-dimensional material quantum beating phenomenon study Publication in Nature
- Prof. Hyunyong Choi’s research team announced the new technology that can control quantum beating phenomenon using ultra-high-speed lasers and Group VII transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) compound rhenium disulfide (ReS2) in the world scientific journal ‘Nature Communications’. This study is led by Prof. Hyunyong Choi (correspondent) and Dr. Sangwan Sim (co-first author) and Doeon Lee (co-first author) from the master’s course of the Yonsei University. Prof. Moon-ho Jo of POSTECH (correspondent) and prof. Wooyoung Shim of Yonsei University participated in the joint research.

- Prof. Sohn wins IEEE Chester Sall Paper Award
- Awarded by the IEEE Consumer Electronics Society, Prof. Sohn’s research group has received the Chester Sall Paper Award for their paper: "Non-Parametric Human Segmentation Using Support Vector Machine". This award is to recognize the best papers recently published in the IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics. Every year, the awards are given at the IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics (ICCE) which is jointly held with Consumer Electronics Shows (CES), Las Vegas, US. This work is done by Dr. Kyuwon Kim (1st author) and Prof. Kwanghoon Sohn (corresponding author).

- 2018 Korea-United Kingdom Focal Point Workshop
- Prof. Kwanghoon Sohn, Prof. Hong-Goo Kang, Prof. Sangyoun Lee, Young-Cheol Park and Prof. Bumsub Ham organize a KR-UK workshop together with professors and researchers in Centre for Vision, Speech & Signal Processing (CVSSP) in University of Surrey, UK. This is supported by National Research Foundation of Korea and British Embassy Seoul. Invited speakers from Yonsei University, G’Audio Lab, BBC, University of Surrey, and University of Southampton give talks and demos related to audio-visual representations. They have a plan to further collaborate each other through EU-Korea projects.

- Professor Taeyoon Lee's Publication in ACS NANO
- Professor Taeyoon Lee's research team developed a system that can manipulate micro/nano-scale volume of droplets. By using this system, various biological markers present in the human body can be detected with only single drop of body fluid such as blood, plasma, tears, and urine. This study was accepted by ACS NANO (IF: 13.942), a prestigious journal in the field of nanoscience with 3.27%. This work was carried out by Heetak Han (Ph.D. student) under the leadership of Prof. Taeyoon Lee (Yonsei University) and Dr. Jungmok Seo (Korea Institute of Science and Technology). This work was also supported by the Korea Research Foundation.
