- Best Paper Awards rewarded to Prof. Hyun Jae Kim's Research Team from Korea Institute of Materials Science (KIMS)
- On February 22nd 2021, PhD student Byung Ha Kang from Prof. Hyun Jae Kim's research team was rewarded a ‘Best Paper Award’ from Korea Institute of Materials Science (KIMS) 2021 for the research paper titled “A Review of Low-Temperature Solution-Processed Metal Oxide Thin-Film Transistors for Flexible Electronics”. As a part of fostering experts and researchers in the material field, this Best Paper Award was awarded to the graduates of the doctoral course who have excellent achievements. These awards were given to graduate students from 10 major universities.

- Dr. Young Woo Lee, Employment of Professor at Chonnam National University
- Dr. Young Woo Lee is employed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at Chonnam National University. Dr. Lee received his Master and Ph.D. degrees from Computer Systems and Reliable SOC Lab (Professor Sungho Kang) in 2015 and 2020, respectively. He was a Staff Engineer with Test and System Package, Samsung Electronics, and Application Engineer with SoC Test Division, Teradyne.

- Dr. Yunho Oh is employed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at SungKyunKwan University (SKKU). Dr. Yunho Oh received his Bachelor and Master degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Yonsei University in 2002 and 2009, respectively. After working as a software engineer at Samsung Electronics, Dr. Yunho Oh received his Ph.D. degree in Embedded Systems and Computer Architecture Lab (Professor Won Woo Ro) at Yonsei University. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).

- Prof. Won Woo Ro, received IEIE Research Pioneer Award
- Professor Won Woo Ro was awarded the 1st ‘IEIE Research Pioneer Award’ sponsored by the Haedong Science and Culture Foundation. Professor Ro has contributed greatly to the advances in parallel processors, especially CPU and GPU, and has consistently presented papers at major international conferences such as ISCA, Micro, and HPCA. In recognition of the contribution, he received the award from IEIE on November 27th.

- Junghyup Lee and Dohyung Kim have won a Gold Prize at 27th Humantech Paper Award
- Junghyup Lee and Dohyung Kim in Prof. Bumsub Ham’s research group have won a Gold Prize at 27th Humantech Paper Award, hosted by Samsung and sponsored by Ministry of Science and ICT and Korean JoongAng Daily. In this year, 1991 papers have been submitted. Prof. Bumsub Ham’s research group has won the award for three consecutive years since 2019.

- Luhing Hu From Ahn’s Lab Wins Silver Award at Humantech Paper Award
- Professor Ahn’s lab student Luhing Hu (Integrated 7 Semester) won the silver prize at the 27th Humantech Paper Award. He developed a process technology that can implement high-performance micro-LED displays using MoS2 TFT, a Two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterial. The Humantech Paper Award is given to the best science and technology paper hosted by Samsung Electronics and sponsored by the Ministry of Science and ICT and Joong-Ang Daily, and 1991 papers were submitted this year.

- Prof. Ahn is awarded the 62nd Samil Prize
- Prof. Ahn Jong-hyun is awarded the Technology and Engineering Award for ‘Development of 2-Dimensional Nanomaterials and Implementation of Technology for Flexible Wearable Electronic Devices’. He is a global leader in the research of transparent flexible wearable devices such as electrical∙electronics, healthcare, and biotechnology using graphene, MoS2, ultra-thin silicon films. The Samil Prize, hosted by the Samil Foundation, is Korea's first private academic and cultural award, which began in 1960, and marks its 62nd anniversary this year.

- Silver and Special Awards rewarded to Prof. Hyun Jae Kim's Research Team from Samsung Display Paper Award 2020
- On November 2020, PhD student Won Kyung Min from Prof. Hyun Jae Kim's research team was rewarded a ‘Silver Award’ from Samsung Display Paper Award 2020 for the research paper titled 'Switching Enhancement via a Phase-controlling Layer for p-Type Copper Oxide Thin-film Transistors’. Additionally, the team was rewarded a ‘Special Award’ for submitting the most number of research papers. In particular, this special award is of great significance in that it proves the result of excellent industry-academic cooperation with Samsung Display Co. Ltd. for about 10 years under the guidance of Prof. Hyun-Hyun Kim, the head of the Yonsei-Samsung Display Research Center.

- Prof. Hyun Jae Kim’s Research Team Published a Paper on 'ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces'
- Prof. Hyun Jae Kim’s research team reported “Vertically Graded Oxygen Deficiency for Improving Electrical Characteristics and Stability of Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide Thin-Film Transistors“ on ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces (Impact Factor: 8.758 , JCR 10.35%). This paper is a study on improving the electrical properties and stability of oxide thin film transistors. This study is significant in that it can be applied as a technology to implement transistors to be used in a high-resolution display backplane. This paper was guided by Prof. Hyun Jae Kim (contact author) and led by graduated student Chan Sic Yoon (first author).
